Ken Shung ,  was born in manhattan and continues to live there , while specializing in Portraiture and Editorial Projects in the studio and on location. He is a faculty /professor at The School of Visual Arts in NYC and part of the BFA undergrad curriculum  while continuing  working in  Lingerie Advertising, , Editorial, Travel lifestyle documentary, Gallery exhibitions, Book Publishing, Teaching Workshops and Commissioned work.

Exhibitions and Recent Accomplishments

2020  Recovered from Covid 19 in 10 days from March 16-26th, 2020     only  taking one tylenol at home and lucky to only suffered mildly. Antibodies and 2nd Vaccination completed Feb 2021. grateful to be recovered and protected. up to date

2019 PhaseOne Certified Professional passing the POCP exam  3 consecutive times since 2015 by creating a class for this at School of Visual Arts NYC

2019- Invited Guest Workshop in GwangJu, Korea sponsered by Asia Cultural Center and other Hosts on Portraiture July 19-25, 2019

2018- built a custom 8×10 shung/shed, built foundation along  with 2 doors and a window , metal roofing and ran electrical to it  only using scrap/used wood, left over siding, used doors and windows and completely by myself without any help or assistant. roof was the hardest without any helper…learned much about building.

2018- Germantown Post Office , N.Y. 12526   July-August ,Portraits of a Community titled : Local:pop up

2017- The Morrison Hotel Gallery NYC  exhibition , August 2017 featuring Tryptich Prints of  Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters in concert with Arthouse18. travelling exhibition to Oklahoma Bob Dylan Museum.

Early Career : during college and next decade 1973-1983

Assistant to Irving Penn Studio, Annie Liebovitz , Bill King  freelancing for 3 years  with different photographers after college in New York City.

Scholarship to Wilson Hicks Conference on Visual Communications, Coral Gables, Miami with

the help of professor , the late  , Therold  Lindquist, photographer , Fredonia , New York

met with John Durniak,Larry Schiller, Duane Michals, Photo Editors with Time, NatGeo.
